Student Veterans Organization
About
The main mission of the SVO is to create an environment that understands military culture, supports veterans, and is also student veteran inclusive. We want to welcome all veterans, service members, and their families on the URI campus, including faculty, staff, and alumni. Our organization will clarify, filter, and update the constantly changing landscape of veterans groups, support organizations, and opportunities both on and off campus for our student veterans. Our mission is to support the academic success, career development, life skills, and intersectionality of all of our individual members and beyond. Also, provide for assistance for transitioning military affiliated students, this includes tutoring, scholarships, fellowships, a shared textbook library, career coaching, internships, job placement, financial education, VA education benefits, veterans resources, and many other opportunities.
